The best time to begin is after your wedding date is confirmed and you have a clear idea of the city or venue. Popular dates can fill earlier than expected, particularly during the main wedding season. Starting early gives you time to compare real portfolios and choose an artist for their work—not simply because they are the only person still available.

You do not need every outfit detail before the first enquiry. Your date, city, type of ceremony and approximate ready-by time are enough to begin a useful availability conversation.

A practical booking timeline

Every wedding is different, but this sequence keeps the important decisions in the right order.

• As soon as the date is confirmed: shortlist artists whose real work suits your preferred finish.
• Before paying an advance: discuss services, travel, timing, trial policy, cancellation terms and what is included.

Travel bookings need more lead time
